Four days into summer vacation, and I am fully immersed in my new routines: a little more sleep, a lot more working out, a shrinking to-do list, and time to read and write, a luxury I cherish. I especially cherish the fact that today marks my 27th wedding anniversary. I am indeed lucky and happy to have a husband who supports and loves me through all of my crazy endeavors.
Speaking of crazy endeavors, I am extremely excited about my project working with the Lowell/Bishop letters. The poem drafts are moving out of the realm of cento/imitation and developing their own narrative, their own voice, with more of my own language and will being imposed to create not a retelling of their story, but a new story with a life of its own.
Another project will hopefully start its new life soon, this one a collaboration that I am looking forward to with great anticipation. And I look forward to reading and reviewing Nic Sebastian’s new nanopress chapbook Dark and Like a Web, which you can order or download here.
Husbands. And words. Both wonderful things.

Many congrats on the anniversary, Donna, and best of luck with the projects. Thanks for the nanopress plug – look forward to seeing what you think!! Best, Nic
Congratulations on your anniversary. That is a gift! And happy summer to you!
Eek—I adore Lowell and Bishop. So darn exciting!
Happy 27th to you both….I believe the 27th anniversary is the “front row tickets to a Death Cab concert” anniversary (at least the traditional gift).
Ha! I am excited about the Lowell/Bishop-inspired poems…they are coming fast and furious. And thanks for the congrats – it’s easy when you find the person tio balance you.
