Bringing Sexy Back: A Wordle Prompt

This week’s Big Tent Poetry prompt was a Wordle prompt with the additional challenge of adding a phrase. The words and phrase gave me a really short poem….about a really long relationship.  Not a work of art, but fun to write. (Wordle words and phrases are in blue…)

After Twenty-Six Years

This is our typical parade of physical affection-

the slip of a strap, the gasp of a playful grab. Then

there is also the matter of your smile, still boyish,

the waking tangle of our thighs, the sudden flame

your hand ignites on the small of my back. I could

continue, but we defy explanation. There is no

question I could answer that says more than this:

our bodies curled together, fused, unbreakable.
