Day 7: Deconstruction

Today’s poem is short, and since I’m not sure where it is going, I will actually post the whole thing.

deconstruction

star of the phillip’s head

stripped beyond turning

this thread, this spiral

mobius swirl of drill bit,

hollowing the surface,

this penetration, this erasure

claw of the hammer

tugging the nailhead

this leverage, this squealing

  1. Ah, love it! Love the hammer, as Thor was the April poem-a-day prompt I put out there in the world. And love the stripped thread and mobius frustration of that. Eager to see what you do next!

  2. Thanks, Kathleen! I just read your post, and the hammer had already appeared before you suggested Thor. Serendipity. Enjoy your Woman Made reading on Sunday! I am hoping to attend your reading at the end of April.
