Day 25: No Time

After a busy day at work, I have a short window of time before I leave to see Arcade Fire tonight, so I am posting a fragment of today’s poem, which I wrote last night in anticipation of this time crunch. (Wow. Long sentence Sorry.) It is a prose poem right now, so the excerpt is from somewhere in the middle.

Day 25 Poem: Choking Hazards

Try to spit, and they settle deeper. Anoxia.Try to swallow, and they stick tight. Potential fatality. Toy soldiers want to wage war, can only huddle in a bunker of lung. Compression of the larynx…
