Thursday and Friday. My middle school girls rocked the house in their performance of writing from the Afghan Women’s Writing Project. They were moving and funny and intense and mature beyond their years. Also mailed off Reflex for its third round.
Saturday. A day at home. Catching up on rest from three 14-hour days of teaching/directing at school. A 4-mile run. Some grocery shopping. Some last-minute movie watching to be ready for the Oscars. Some revisions of old poems that are going in new directions.
Sunday. Taught a Rhino Poetry Forum workshop at Evanston Public Library. A great group of writers with which to workshop and discuss ekphrastic poetry. Came home to find out that, although I did not win, I was a semi-finalist in the first Sundress Publications chapbook competition. Encouraging.
